Running Compute-to-Data

The Compute-to-Data feature is the solution to the tradeoff between using private data to derive value for business and preserving the privacy of data assets. Compute-to-Data lets data stay on-premise, while allowing Data Consumers to run compute jobs on it, thus providing them a basis for analysis.

Steps to Use Compute-to-Data​

  1. Log in to the marketplace.
  2. From the left navigation bar, go to Explore > Assets.
  3. Make sure to select a dataset tagged as 'Compute'. You can use the filters to refine your search.
  4. Click on 'View More.' This will redirect you to the asset detail page.
  5. Select the Compatible Algorithm(s) to run from the dropdown list of trusted algorithms allowed by Data Providers to run on the dataset.
  6. Click on 'Order Compute Job.'
  7. Review your transaction details and if the dataset has a license agreement, agree to the 'End User License Agreement' by ticking the checkbox.
  8. Click on 'Confirm' and wait for the transaction to process.
  9. Once the compute transaction is successful, click on My Orders > Single Compute Jobs section. You will be redirected to the Computed Jobs dashboard. Navigate to the 'Compute' tab to check the progress of your compute job and download the compute output file.
